Navigating away from app while running mission

New to this platform so this is what I experience my first time using it. First off, really wish I could select my drone when planning a mission on my iPad, I have a Mavic 3E. I do not want to make my missions on the controller. I understand I cant fly it with my iPad but for planning purposes it would be nice. I powered on the DJI RC Pro controller, then the drone. I opened the Map Pilot pro app, went to Mission Plans, selected my test flight mission I made, uploaded it to the drone and pressed the start button. The done took off to about 40ft and stopped. I then landed the drone and closed out of the app and started over again, upload the mission and it worked. During the mission I decided to open the DJI Pilot 2 app to lock the AF and when I went back to the Map Pilot Pro app all that was on the screen was the mission path, like I was creating a new mission, not good in my book. So I then closed the app, again, and opened it back up. I went to the Mission Plan and then it showed what should be showing during the mission. I chalked all this up to bugs or maybe I just don't know how to use the app. When I started to I upload my images to the website to make them map, images where missing from when I didn't have the app open, NOT good! Is this all documented somewhere? What to do and not do when using the app? If all the mission setting where uploaded to the drone, whey was there images missing from when the app wasn't open?

Don't do that unless you want things to break. The Mavic 2 Enterprise can be selected as the camera in the Settings on the iOS device. You can create the mission on your iPad and sync it to your account. Then any other device that syncs will have access to that mission layout.

It sounds like you are actually talking about the Mavic 3 Enterprise though which is only supported on Android devices.

You need to make sure all other drone related apps are fully closed:

Running 2 apps at the same time is a great way to make your aircraft fly far far away...

Map Pilot Pro triggers the images so if the app isn't running it isn't going to take images. If you need to take images while the app is not in communication with the aircraft Connectionless mode is available:

Thanks for the reply. Yes I'm flying a 3E, I'll update my post. I knew it was only available on Android. So if I make my flight plan on an iPad and then synce it to my controller, will it it updated the flight settings when it sees I'm flying a Mavic 3E?

Yes, you could potentially create the mission plan on the iPad and then update it on the remote. Or you could define the boundary on MME and then sync it to the remote for final layout if that is the issue.
