Home Point Error

We are sorry to hear you had an issue using Map Pilot Pro. It sounds like there may have been other apps running in the background or issues getting a GPS fix. How many satellites did you have? 

Since it sounds like the red triangle was not showing your location accurately that is the biggest problem here. 

Did you open the DJI app to see how things were working there? Was it showing your position accurately?

Were all other apps FULLY closed on the iOS device?

I did not open any other apps. I rebooted the drone (P4P), the RC, and the iPad. Map Pilot indicated my true position on the map. The only thing I can come up with is last week I was flying a large acreage that required several days of multiple battery flights. The weather changed and we had to stop prior to completion. Could map pilot be stuck trying to use a HP associated with that truncated mission?

I would get two errors. The first stated that I was more than 20 meters from HP and did I want to reset the HP. I would answer yes and it would respond with another error screen that I was more than 30 meters from the HP and could not reset. I rebooted all devices and deleted all mission plans except the active one. Home point is set to movable. No change. It's stuck in a loop and will not fly any missions now.

Oh, I forgot to mention, I had a 14 satellite fix and excellent internet access with the iPad.

It sounds like you had an unfinished mission at your previous location. You would have needed to delete that to lay out a new one. Did you lay out a new flight locally or just hit upload? Did you have a KML file selected to define your flight path? 

Open the New Mission screen now and see if the previous progress is still there and hit the trash can icon.

You can't set a home point that is more than half the distance the aircraft can travel on a battery away from the currently entered flight plan. 

Any time you come across unexpected behavior it is best practice to close Map Pilot Pro and open the DJI app since it can report more issues than Map Pilot Pro has access to. 

I flew a test mission the next morning and all systems were normal. I intentionally abandoned that mission short of completion, went to a different (distant) site and flew a pre-saved mission. Once again, all systems were normal. If this bug arises again I will grab screen shots and report back.

An unrelated question. Map pilot initiates a low battery RTH (P4P) when the batteries are in the mid 40% range, even when home is only a few hundred meters distant. Low battery is set at 10% in DJI app, and flight time is set for 20 minutes in map pilot. In doing large acreage missions this really impacts the timeline.
