Exporting KMZ from Map Pilot Pro for Air 3 to iOS

I'm trying to export a waypoint mission from Map Pilot Pro to my iphone 12 mini. My phone has both MPP and DJI Fly apps. I have an Air 3 with the RC 2 (with screen).

On my iphone i created a folder called wayline_mission as you suggested. So the path on the iphone is DJI Fly/wayline_mission.
I copied one of my existing kmz files from a past waypoint missions to DJI Fly/wayline_mission and tried to export from Map Pilot Pro again with no success.

Just to make sure i understand correctly...

on android phones i would export the kmz from Map Pilot Pro to:
DJI RC 2\Internal shared storage\Android\data\dji.go.v5\files\waypoint\{waypoint_folder}\
And it should replace the existing kmz, overwriting the dummy mission that was created on the controler.

On an iphone i would create a folder called wayline_mission in DJI Fly folder and export the kmz from Map Pilot Pro to:
DJI Fly/wayline_mission
And it should replace the existing kmz or create a new one?

On my controller the dummy waypoint mission i planned created a folder within waypoint folder called F4925B45-53F6-4220-9286-F90298B773CA and within that folder is a kmz with filename F4925B45-53F6-4220-9286-F90298B773CA.kmz

I tried mirroring this on my iphone, exporting the following the following locations:
DJI Fly
DJI Fly/wayline_mission
DJI Fly/wayline_mission/F4925B45-53F6-4220-9286-F90298B773CA

All 3 attempts still failed to export.

Is the path still wrong?

I'm glad to hear you'll have a version out soon that allows IOS devices to export to the downloads folder, do you know when that release will be? Is there still an option that works for IOS in the short term?

Thanks.

On the iOS device you would need to create a dummy mission using the DJI app. Then you would export a mission using Map Pilot Pro. That would get written to the wayline_mission folder as a new folder and KMZ file, not overwriting anything since we can write new missions for iOS (not just overwrite). You could then take the KMZ from wherever it lands and import it into Android by overwriting the KMZ file that is written there. The filename has to be the same as the one created by making the dummy mission in Android.

We have added an option in 5.11.2 that should be out tomorrow that allows you to enable "Export Simple KMZ" in the Advanced section of the Settings. This will make it so you can choose where to write the KMZ file to instead of the iOS database that usually gets used. This would be used for export to RC2 remotes.

The new option allows you to save the KMZ to your Downloads folder or wherever on your iOS device. You can then share it to your computer via AirDrop or Email. Then you are on your own to transfer the KMZ file to your DJI RC2 remote using whatever Android tool you want. Make sure you have already created a dummy mission and then overwrite the dummy mission KMZ in the DJI Fly apps wayline_mission folder with the one created by Map Pilot Pro.

All of this only applies for iOS and RC2 remote. With DJI's other remotes you should run Map Pilot Pro right on that and it will just write the files directly to where they need to be.

That doesn't matter. The "Export Simple KMZ" setting is for people who are generating a KMZ on an iOS remote and to use on a different device. It is very similar to what has to be done for Android 11+ since you have to move files around and rename them.

Thank you for the update Zane!
I downloaded the update and was able to export the kmz to the downloads folder on iOS.

My workaround prior to this update was that i went and bought the cheapest android tablet on amazon i could find (was on sale for $100, android 13 and 6+6 RAM) solely for installing MPP and being able to export KMZ files. That worked for me, and i might continue to use that because of the large 10" screen for mapping missions, and not having to deal with itunes.

It's really nice to know i can do the same thing from my iphone now though too!

Thank you!
