Very poor mapping results from New Mavic 3 Enterprise [Thermal] and Maps Made Easy

I have been using MME for... nearly a decade.. from your start.  I have successfully made great maps using several workflows, but certainly the DJI workflow is the easiest and I have used Mini's Mini'SEs, Mavic Pro and Pro Platinum, Mavic 2 Pro, and all the Phantoms, and I have made hundreds of maps using the Yuneec Typhoon-H series, but I have never been as disappointed as with my brand new Mavic 3 Enterprise.

First, the Map Pilot Pro states that it should work w M3E (i have a M3Et, but the controller is the same)...   I have a $23 USB-C to iPad Lightning cable... but when I go to settings to connect, there are no Mavic 3's in my selection list... I have MPP 5.5.1 installed, new as of 2023Jun11.   Help...

so I used DJIs Pro mission planner and saved 850 images at 300ft AGL w 85% overlap...  and in all 15 of my maps, there are either gross missalignment of tiles, or, weirdly, entire wide strips in the middle of my maps where the resolution drops and the whole center of my maps look blurry.    Ive never seen anything like this, but its weirdly consistent...  for 4 different locations.   Yes, I know theres open water in my imagery.. but I follow a recipe I have used w a decades worth of other DJI drones and it produces high integrity maps  till now.   Is there something I am over looking?

I would like to continue to use MME...  it is familiar and I have practical workflows... but the quality of my results is .. not acceptable.

Please help me figgerout why I cannot use Map Pilot Pro w my iPad and Mavic 3 Enterprise

Please help me figger out why I get such poor quality from DJI-planned mission imagery.

Cheers

DJI has not added any new aircraft support for iOS since March 2021 when they announced they were going all-in on Android (and apparently were in a fight with Apple).

From our Supported Hardware page:

  • Mavic 3 Enterprise (on M3E remote)

Just install the Enterprise version of the app on the remote from here:

Thermal mapping with photogrammetry basically just does not work unless you pre-process the images to have equal thermal color toning, and even then it is almost impossible to do because of the low resolution.

Because of these limitations we recommend using our Flat Map workflow with DJI thermal cameras. You can use as little as 15-20% overlap and you get a guaranteed result.

Use the isothermal settings to have the camera try to keep the color toning consistent. Otherwise the camera will just autoscale each image and you are going to get weird results.
