Manual GPS input

Renewable energy in our part of the world is just getting started.
Google earth/maps therefore does not have these sites photographed yet.

Secondly I work mainly in areas where there are no cell reception and therefore no internet or wi-fi.

If I want to fly a solar farm for instance... is there a way to manually input the GPS waypoints I retrieve from my Garmin GPSMap 60CSx?

Secondly about 60% of my work is linear for things such as power line routes, you will not consider adding the linear (single pass) feature that can also be manually programmed?

You can use our "Georeferenced w/Manual GCPs" workflow (the one on the right). It allows you to do exactly what you are describing for associating pixels with coordinate locations.

We intend to add a linear mission planner in a future release of Map Pilot to enable pipeline, power line, river and road surveys.

Currently people are doing all the linear sections using Map Pilot and then joining the individual segments into one map using our the Location Map feature in Maps Made Easy.

Hello everybody;

May I know the purpose of filming a Solar PhotoVoltaic Farm in Infrared or NIR ? Is it possible to detect any failure like abnomal Cell or Panel function etc...) ?

Any precise feedback please.

Thank you;
Zahi

Yes, that is exactly what you aim to accomplish.
See references from Optris and FLIR

Good Morning Tudor

Thanks for this. I will do it the long way for now ;-)
But... Now I'm getting lazy ;-)

Will there ever be a feature whereby I will be able to plan a linear or rectangular route for instance, by making use of something like Garmin BaseCamp etc. and then exporting the waypoints? Basecamp allows export in Google Earth readable format including *.gpx; *.gdb; *.csv; *.kml; *.tcs and *.txt
What I especially like is the keyboard and mouse interaction to manipulate numbers and moving things around very accurately. The iPAD's finger control is just not really my cup of tea... seeing that I grew up with keyboard only... before the mouse landed on the desktop ;-)

I normally export my 4x4 trips in this way to share with friends.

Hope to hear positive thoughts on this...

The new version that has been submitted has a popup that shows the currently selected coordinate. We have also added a popup that allows you to manually key in the boundary marker locations. We are trying to avoid importing files from third parties from a variety of reasons...

Hey Tudor

I hear you, but hey it would be nice, you have to agree...
Would be nice if I could write my own little "sub routine" with the DJI SDK...
Have used the DJI PC Simulator to achieve a difficult auto flight routine a week or so ago... perhaps it calls for a little more investigation ;-)

SDK stuff needs be be written and compiled before app submission so there isn't really any opportunity to write your own without writing your own app. We have found that the DJI SDK Sample app is pretty easy to modify to do custom stuff.

Map Pilot is not a general purpose ground station application and will continue add functionality that serves its primary function of mapping. We do not plan on adding any single pass capability because that rarely leads to high quality 3D reconstructions. Single pass stuff is likely achievable using a number of other apps.
