Pilot app crashing when connected to M300

The issue started in the middle of a project, it was working smoothly before. But since then, every time that I open the mission window with the aircraft connected the app crashes. Also, if I'm already in the mission window, and connect the drone, it also crashes. I tried connecting with different cables, reinstall the app, factory reset the remote, but nothing works. I'm using the iOS app on a iPhone XR. This setup is working flawless with Phantom 4 Pro. But not with the M300

I don't see any recent flights in your account (in the last two weeks). Please sync what you have so we can take a look.

What version of the app are you using? This is displayed at the bottom of the Settings.

When was the last time it worked well for you?

Last successful synced flight would be march 31st. The day the problem arise was actually may 24th. The reason I don't have the record on that day is probably due because I reinstalled the app in the field without syncing.

Since then I'm flying with the DJI Pilot App. I did try again a few days ago (sep 20th) figuring it could have been mitigated by a recent update, unfortunately the problem persists.

I'm running iOS 16.6.1; Map Pilot Pro 5.5.6 build 092220231; DJI app 7.0.1.1; Remote control 7.00.0100 and aircraft 7.00.0100

Thank you. I’ll try that and let you know. I’m just a little confused if should I use the 1.6.4b or 1.6.4e for the M300. Can you enlighten me?

Weirdly the M300 is supported by both versions. If you are running the app on the DJI remote we recommend installing the 'e' variant of the app.

Let's say it kind of works. I'm missing my favorite feature thought, that is manually select the start point.

Besides that it throws a lot of errors in the beginning. Some due to the fact that i'm not using a standard payload (I'm using 3rd party LiDAR). One other about the FNS switch not set to "N" (my controller user a TPS switch, and it was set to "P", which it should). And on occasion an extra error about flying above max altitude, with the option to override the aircraft setting that does not work.

If you get the maximum altitude error, you have to manually change it in the DJI app, then back in MP start the upload process again.

It does eventually let you start a mission, but with no visual assistance from the FPV camera.

I guess that even with all the annoyances I wouldn't mind paying the price for the elite plan. This is a fantastic app with a bunch of killer features like corridor mapping, mission sharing, kml overlays to name a few. I do appreciate the effort to make it available in as many platforms as possible!

On a final note, thought, I really, really, really, would like if the manual restar point could be fixed soon!

Which version are you using 'b' or 'e'? Have you tried the other?

Is the manual restarting point not working for you in Android? It should be... We will get that fixed quickly if it isn't.

If you don't have a DJI payload camera connected it won't give you the video feed. Do you have Custom Camera selected? iOS will display the FPV feed. Not sure if that is in Android yet. If not, we will add that for sure.

There are certain settings that we don't touch with Map Pilot Pro and you have to do those in the DJI app. The maximum altitude is one of those.

I'm using the "e" version on the "Smart Controller Enterprise" (the standard one for M300).

I'll test later with the "b" version and let you know.

About the video feed: I never got it working for the M300 on iOS (mind you that I'm not using a DJI payload) It would be nice to be able to choose the FPV onboard camera of the aircraft in such condition.

I was using the L1 camera on the app settings, instead of the custom camera this last time that I've tested. I'll try to change that setting and test that as well.

Back to iOS, I can't do any testing because the app is crashing just after the message "looking for aircraft..."

I guess that's it. I will do the testing and get back to you.

Ps.: The video feed is not a dealbreaker as long as I can switch to DJI Pilot in the middle of the flight without disrupting the mission, which was my workflow in iOS anyway, since I have more extensive telemetry data from there, including that from the 3rd party payload that I don't expect you to support. The key here would be to be able to restart from the correct strip once back to Map Pilot to start the second flight.

Ps2.: I've tested already and is possible to switch apps during flight even when running both apps on DJI remote. The missing feature now to make the app usable again for me would be "manual restarting point".

That is why you aren't getting the video feed. You can't just select a camera that isn't there. You need to select Custom Camera and put in reasonable parameters to get the spacing you want. You can read more about that here:

https://support.dronesmadeeasy.com/hc/en-us/articles/4417189360404-LiDAR-Flight-Planning-

If the FPV feed isn't working now it will be in the next release or so.

We have had issues with iOS and our M300 remote as well. Others work fine though. You might want to try rolling the firmware back to a version that worked previously if you can.

I would very strongly urge you not to switch apps during flight. That is opening up all sorts of weird possibilities that can make your aircraft fly away or crash.

Copy that. Thanks for the alert! In that case I will wait for a release that support the FPV on the Enterprise remote, or a fix for the iOS crashing issue.

I think you have access to my e-mail, feel free to contact me if you want help with testing. Since this discussion is not about the iOS crashing problem anymore, I guess I will start another thread should I run into other problems while testing the Android version on the DJI Remote.
