I don't think DJI has magically added waypoint support for the Mavic Air 2 in the last couple of months. Please correct us if we are wrong.

We have added Virtual Stick support for the Mavic Air 2 since it does not support waypoint flight. It is currently in beta but we are hoping to release it soon. Any currently supported aircraft can actually use our Virtual Stick support.
We plan on supporting the Air 2S, Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced and Mavic 3 when DJI updates the SDK. We hear this might happen at the end of March. Allegedly...
