1. Not really. You can change the RTH % and warning values in the DJI app but the battery will still trigger it to come home when it thinks it needs to. 

2. Yes, and you should be doing it every 20 flights. Run the battery down to less than 7% charge and then do a full charge on the charger that came with the aircraft (single charger).
