I uploaded images for a map last night and estimated completion was 8:18 pm. Since some time before 8:18 pm it has been showing about half done on the progress bar. At one point about 10:00 pm it regressed back to about one quarter done and then back to one half. That has not changed as of 7:00 am this morning. Has it hung up somehow? Or is it waiting on higher priority jobs? If so, can I stop it and resubmit as higher priority?
The ETA is based on when a job starts. A job can be stopped or delayed if too many high priority jobs are requested. Running a job as ASAP is the only way to make sure it will get done without interruption. Interruptions happen far less than 1% of the time.
There is no way to stop a job that has been submitted since the points have already been consumed.

Does an ETA of 9.51 mean that I must wait 24 hours. It's the first time this has ever happened in my year of using MME
The calculation of the ETA is done at the time the job is kicked off and is based on the amount of data that is uploaded and historical averages. If your job has significantly higher overlap or is more complicated that is typical the ETA will be off. It is an estimated time of arrival. The ETA on larger jobs is more prone to error.
