NDVI-7

Is the Maps Made Easy software able to process images with IR-PRO's NDVI-7 filter? they're description is it is a "blue/green + NIR" vs the typical "blue+NIR"...

I have their blue filter currently, want to be sure your software will process this correctly before upgrading to this improved lens / filter

thanks!

Maps Made Easy is certainly able to process it but we never recommend using any of the hacked cameras that are available on the market for trying to create meaningful NDVI data.

NDVI is more complicated than just installing or removing some filters. No matter what you do to an RGB camera with a bayer pattern filter there will be too much crosstalk between the channels to get usable data.

We have created a DJI-based system for collecting read NDVI data using a gimbal stabilized Parrot Sequoia and the Matrice 100: Drones Made Easy Agronaut Agricultural Mapping System

Please review our NDVI Processing article for details on how to force it:

Short answer: Maps Made Easy does not process the raw data as it comes out of the Sequoia.

Part of what our Agronaut system does is pre-process the Sequoia data for upload into various softwares (including Maps Made Easy). The Sequoia creates 5 separate images each time it takes a picture. These bands are not aligned and the pre-processing is not trivial or universal.

The Agronaut conditions and aligns the images to create a Red Edge NDVI and normal NDVI image set that can be processed using the normal NDVI techniques used by most software. The bands are properly balanced and calibrated as well.
