After several smaller areas have been mapped can they be merged together to make one larger map?
This is precisely what the Location Map feature is for. You can create a new location map by adding multiple visits to the same location or adjacent maps. You can then shuffle the order and elect which of the stock basemaps you would like have showing behind it.

This overlay feature is great, but I can't figure out how to overlay DME or NDVI layers from the chosen maps - I can only see the main image.
I am also interested in presenting maps from different patches on the same base map. For example, I want to survey sections of a trail in a park in 3-4 different runs, but then display them on the same base map.
