Multibattery mission problems

 

During last several multibattery missions I've experienced problems with MP not taking pictures after battery swap.

Sometimes it took pictures but did not stamp them on the flight line, so after battery swap it did not return to the last point of the last flewn battery but to the last point of the battery flewn before and repeated that part.

Had several messages "Removing image Points older than 60 seconds to limit CPU activity" popping up, which I never saw before.

The app crashed 2 times.

Also, after swapping battery, sometimes the upload/start button and telemetry window does not appear, so I have to relaunch the drone or the RC to be able to continue.

Is the video feed coming back up after the battery swap?

We added the image location dot cleanup as part of a CPU optimization to help things work better on old devices. Basically if it detects that the camera is falling behind the commands it attempts to free things up by temporarily getting rid of features that are getting drawn and using up resources unnecessarily.

The upload and start button (flight control slide out menu) won't come up until the GPS location is gotten again. This can take some time. You have to wait until the red triangle shows up again.

If there is an issue it is safe to close the app and reopen it as your progress is saved and you can pick up where you left off.

Yes, the video feed is on, I can see the earth moves beneath. But it just flies the mission without triggering..

It is odd that when it allows you to take off that it is not taking images. If you have the log file from that flight please email it to us for inspection.

Sorry for the noob question, but what log do you mean? Where is it stored, in the Ipad or the bird?

Mine is doing some weird stuff as well since the update.  When it comes back and lands it disconnects the bird.  After I put in a new battery it will not reconnect.  I have to exit out of the app, and come back in.  Once I come back in, I can continue the mission.  Several times though after I resumed the mission it changed the direction of the flight path.  When it started back it was flying some totally different path.  I had to bring it back, and clear the path and start again.  Also the screen kept freezing, to where I couldn't do anything.   I went through about five batteries trying to get 150 acres.  I finally switched to Skycatch.  Is there going to be another update soon to fix these issues?  It is pretty much unusable right now.

Dario: Log files can be found in the Log File Manager in Map Pilot and emailed directly from there.

Wade: Did you give it plenty of time to reconnect and come back up with the red triangle location?

This is the proper battery change procedure:

  • Land from first flight.
  • Turn off aircraft as usual with battery button. 
  • Replace battery with charged one.
  • Turn on aircraft as usual.
  • Wait for it power up and regain video feed.
  • Hit 'Battery Changed' button.
  • Wait for everything to come back up, including the red triangle that denotes the aircraft's position.

It is important that you always check the blue verification line before starting since that is the exact flight path that gets programmed into the aircraft.

Bug reports are not complete and we can't really help without a full reporting of the Map Pilot version, iOS device type, aircraft type and firmware versions.

Found the log part 😊, but when I hold on the csv and select share via mail, nothing happens.

I'll download it to disc. What's the mail adress to send it to you?
