Interesting. I have never heard of doing that. So basically it is just a single pass instead of doing a full grid flight?

Yes, having a single cross flight across the parallel flight block strengthens the triangulation quite a bit without having to commit the time and batteries of a full project cross flight. Another thing that can be implemented that also strengthens the flight is having something similar to what DJI has in their M3E controller software. They have a setting called Altitude Optimization, that when enabled, takes a series of oblique shots at the end of the project flight starting from the corner of the project towards the center. This also strengthens the triangulation quite bit.

Have you tried our "Victory Lap" feature? It goes around the outer perimeter to shore up the overlap on the outer edges but you could make a couple quick yaw and gimbal angle adjustments to do what you are describing in the DJI app.
