This is almost comical how hard it is to find out info about your service. I have been with you for three years and its getting worse

Line out your georeferencing products please so its not so hard to figure out what is actually being produced. Am I correct that ground points are to be added to processing after initial photos are processed with crappy camera data? Then you add ground points and re-process. No tangible results are attainable because surface data is not re-processed. Is this process correct or am I reading your website incorrectly?

thank you

We are sorry you are not happy with the service. If at any time you have questions we are here to answer them (usually within minutes of posting, like this response).

You can find a list of what products are provided with every job here (right where you start a new job):

https://www.mapsmadeeasy.com/maps/new/

We also provide a sample data set and free processing for small jobs so you can know exactly what to expect.

Our new Manual Rereferencing workflow allows you to apply GCP data to jobs that have already been processed to make them more accurate. You can read more about that process here:

https://support.dronesmadeeasy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000518146-Manual-Rereferencing

The rereferencing process provides all image related outputs, including the DEM. A thin plate spline transformation is applied to the image and elevation data for X/Y adjustments. Only an affine (linear offset) transformation is applied to the elevation data to correct for gross global error. We could take out spherical distortions but most people won't have enough GCP data to make that accurate.

The account associated with this email address has one small processing point purchase last summer and two jobs that have been run last summer as well. Is there another account we should be looking at?

Zane,

I couldn’t log in with my Maps Made Easy email and password in your comment site for some reason so I am logged in with chrome.

To answer your question, I have been working under a different account for years but that person no longer does our drone work so I have a different account at this time. If it matters, I believe another person working with us for a while also had an account that we submitted under occasionally.

As long as we are talking about accounts, I submitted a project for processing yesterday and it does not show up on my account as pending. Did the account get frozen?

I read this link several times before I emailed you the comment.

I think you are missing the point of the comment.

Prior to your changing of the way referencing the project was done the actual surface products was usefull data.

Now the process does not output any usable surface data since corrections are not applied to any of the surface files. Your service just became visual only. I know how to use these files for surface data

3D related files (XYZ, LAS, OBJ, KMZ) are not reprocessed and are not provided.

As far as I know your DTM is visual only, -which provides no actual surface data.

I would gladly pay additional charge for the surface data from the corrected (GCP’s) controlled photo.

It seems like you have that data or could reprocess easily and  provide?

We could take out spherical distortions but most people won't have enough GCP data to make that accurate.

You’re talking about millimeters here if that over a typical project, I’m talking about feet of vertical correction. GPS is very week with vertical solutions compared to horizontal and when I compare GCP corrected to uncorrected I see usually see horizontal correction affected very little with this type of post processing.

Readers Digest,

Is it possible to pay additional $ (service) for surface data files from GCP corrected project?

There is huge market for this data as the alternative is $  PIX4D

I currently see two pending jobs that were submitted within the last couple of hours. There was nothing successfully submitted yesterday that I can see. If the upload process does not complete the job not successfully submitted and  is not kicked off.

The DEM (DTM) is not 'visual only'. It is 32-bit float data that gives a high decimal precision value for every represented pixel. This is much more feature rich than a point cloud, model, KML, or XYZ file. It is fully possible to drape the GeoTiff over the DEM to and convert that to a model. Since the process is FREE we are not offering that as a product at this time.

The linear offset we provide will do whatever amount of correction is needed. But it will do the same correction in a linear fashion across the entire dataset. For example, if your elevation data is off by hundreds of meters due to not using a Ground Reference image or by using the noisy GPS data and the data shows that it is all 25 meters ASL. Using the manual referencing with accurate elevation data to get it back up to 3000 meters would work fine.

You can read more about that here:
