Camera flipping between pointing down (-90) to "above" straight (I can see the drone)

Thanks for taking a look at this...

DJI Mavic 2 Zoom drone. This drone is less than 6 months out of the box so I don't think it's a drone issue of the DJI controller. I'm using an older iPad Mini but it doesn't have issues with the Litchi app.

The last three attempts to get an aerial had the camera flip up from pointing straight down to straight out. Two of the flights were of the same location. All the missions I have flown before without issues.

On the last flight, I was very careful not to touch any of the programmable buttons since one I have set to flip back and forth. Of the 157 shots though, 99 are pointing out.

I've updated the DJI firmware and Map Pilot App.

Any ideas?

This isn't something the app is telling it to do. We set the gimbal one single time to the prescribed setting and the gimbal does the rest.

This could be a gimbal calibration issue. Try flying with the gimbal at -85 degrees instead to see if that fixes it. The mapping outputs would be the same or better anyway.

It shouldn't be anything with the app commanding the gimbal position but Issues Using Older iOS Devices

Try a newer device if you can after you do a full aircraft and gimbal calibration and try using a slightly less than 90 degree setting.

In case this is an issue for anyone else...

Updating to a new iPad seemed to fix the issue.
