App freeze & drone does not take pictures

 Hi!

Just recently (2 hours ago) had a mission where the app froze and the drone stopped taking pictures after the 11th pictures or so, video feed still continues though and the phantom still moves according to the waypoint created.

I am on Phantom 4 latest firmware (prior to the flight I updated the firmware).

It was fine before I perform firmware update.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

It isn't likely a firmware update issues since a lot of people have update with no issues. The disconnection is likely due to either a RF or software interference issue. The continued flight is expected since it has been given waypoints to fly. If disconnected, the map imaging will stop. The fact that you maintained the video feed is a bit surprising though.

Feel free to email us your log files from the flight so we can take a look for you. mapping@dronesmadeeasy.com

Hi Ryan, thanks for the response!

Are you saying that a temporary RF disconnection caused the app to freeze? If so then that might be the case because I might've lost RF momentarily before gaining connection again.

Can you somehow update the app that it uploads the command to take photos and not only the waypoint? Just my input.

I will provide the logfiles to you once I play with it again.

Thanks!

The DJI SDK does not allow for camera triggering commands to be loaded into the aircraft for disconnected use with adding a waypoint and the waypoint limit is 100 so it wouldn't be very useful. We are working on a way to do disconnected imaging but it generally leads to lower quality results than the way we do things. Since we also do the processing for people we can see what works and what doesn't and simply setting the intervalometer and flying leads to inaccurate model calculation.
