Strange error within 5 miles of an air port

I got a strange error the other day. I was within 5 miles of a major airport, which I think was the cause. I was probably 3 or 4 miles from the center point on DJI's map, and flying at something like 60m. As the drone took off into the plan it gave an unexpected dji error and then proceeded. It flew the route and took the pictures, but didn't place the grey dots on the map. I was kind of sweating whether it was taking the pictures, but the preview was blinking like the pictures were being taken. Overall pretty much everything worked as expected except the warning dialog and the dots indicating the taken photos.

It is interesting that it took the pictures if the dots weren't being drawn. That shouldn't happen. DJI hasn't told us much about what happens in the presence of an airport. We have implemented the warnings that they have provided but it is a bit hard to test... The camera preview blinking does mean that the images were being taken.

The airport keep out zone system should have allowed you to fly higher than 60m that far out without issue.

We will keep an eye on that and try to see if this issue comes up in the simulator.

I have had this problem intermittently as well but was well away from any airport. I am not sure of the circumstances but have started screen recording my phone for every flight to see if I can diagnose the problem. It seemed to me like if I didn't climb the machine up to altitude before engaging the mission, I would get the error and no photo centres would be created. Like you however, when the drone returned all photos were taken. I have experienced this with both an Inspire 1 and Phantom 3 Pro.
