Map Pilot App Battery Consumption

Hi;

It is noticed that the Map Pilot App is dramatically consuming my new iPad (mini 4) or iPhone 6 Batteries which as you know cannot be charged thru the Remote Controller of the P3P while executing the mission. So; is there a way to reduce such huge consumption while in the field ?
