The Inspire 2 is still a bit flakey... This seems to happen with all new aircraft for the 2-3 months after they are released while DJI sorts things out. This is not something that Map Pilot can change.
I have had an issue where Map Pilot will drop the connection to the Inspire 2 in mid flight. Sometimes the Inspire 2 will just stop and hover, other times it will start to drift off course.
I have to bring the Inspire back home, restart it, and then continue the flight.
Anyone else had this issue?

Not with same aircraft, but similar with Phantom 4 Pro with map pilot and also Pix4D capture, getting stuck at 16 1/2 minute mark currently. Guess DJI need to sort out their new SDK...
This 16 minute issue has been narrowed down to the Mavic, P4P and Inspire 2. The Inspire 1 and P3s do not do it.
The bug has been reported and you can track DJI's response here:
Thanks Zane, glad to hear it's been officially recognised, hope it's sorted soon...
According to their most recent response it has already been addressed in a future firmware release. We'll see.
The 16 minute issue has been fixed in the most recent firmware update for the for Phantom 4 Pro v01.04.0602.
