Geotiff not draping

The geotiff file is supposed to "drape" over the ground when imported into Google Earth.  Not happening.  Have checked with Windows and mac laptops.

Tiff file from internet however drape as supposed to.

The GeoTiff file is just an image and it is not optimized to be opened in Google Earth. If you are looking for 3D information you might want to look at the KMZ file which is generated.

There are probably ways to get it to drape over the GE terrain but that isn't something we can help with.

Thank you for comment. Isnt a Geotiff file supposed to be georeferenced?

The kmz also does not drape to ground?

The KMZ does not drape but it is already in 3D. You may have to adjust the altitude for it.

The GeoTiff is georeferenced and will show up at the proper location. Did you convert it to a super overlay?

If it doesn't work for you it is a limitation of the viewer (Google Earth), not the file.

Thank you Zane.  Yes I have tried with super overlay.  Funny that tiff files available on internet drape 100% but not the Geotiff from MAPS.

I am using Mac but have also tried on Windows.

When overlay is created it shows a little camera indicating that the layer is from an image?
