I'm guessing you mean the satellite image you want to use for planning?

You can bring in another basemap to overcome that.  Read here:

Dave's input is correct. The other quicker way to do it would be to draw the outline of the area you want to map in Google Earth, export the shape as a KML file and import that into Map Pilot to use as a guideline.
