App Crashes when planning a flight using hotspot

I’m using an iPad 10.5” 2019 with the app and hotspotting from my iPhone 6.

i plan the flight as I’m in the field, when I try to save the app crashes and closes.

Frustrating as im 2 hours from home and need to plan a flight

When you save a mission it will attempt to download basemap and terrain data if it isn't already on the device.

Hotspot internet connections are the worst type of internet so there was likely an issue downloading some of the map tiles. We test for internet connection and no internet connection. It is very hard to test for a bad or intermittent connection.

Switching to Airplane mode would have allowed for the mission to save without attempting (badly) to download the files.

In general, you can plan and save all the basemap and terrain data you need before you go out into the field. We put a lot of work into offline operation to address the issue of poor or no connection.

I got it sorted by removing the app and reinstalling but I did get this error up

understood, the signal was fine, 4g full bars. I’m convinced there was an issue with the app as when I reinstalled it and planned more flights it worked fine on hotspot (I was standing in exactly the same position with same signal etc).

If there is an issue with the signal a warning would be preferable over an app crash
