Yes, the 'e' version of the app is required for the Mini 3 series. But as noted in this link you can only use the N1 or RC Pro remotes.

Could we please get that article updated to specify it is not compatible with the dji-rc controller?
I purchased a DJI RC-N1 which is the remote model to which you use your phone instead of a built in screen and it does indeed work quite well.
I installed the latest APK on my
DJI Mini 3, but I'm getting a memory
card error; or, when I do manage to
get it airborne for mapping, it drifts
off the flight path and becomes completely
disoriented. It used to work fine, but now
it's acting up like this.
Please make sure all of your flight logs are posted so we can see what is going on. Your most recent flight logs are from 5 days ago using 3.1.12 which is not the most recent APK.
Use the DJI app to format your SD card to prevent SD card write errors.
I can see that your 3.1.12 flights are not staying on track very well. Please make sure your IMU and compass are fully calibrated in the DJI app. make sure you are not taking off from a metal surface which can mess up the readings.
Also, make sure to close as many other apps as you can to free up system resources. I am seeing less than 1 GB of RAM available on some of your flights.
