Connecting Issues

I have made a flight plan on my iPad mini 4 and the app seems to be communicating with the remote control. However, I am unable to get the drone to connect and start it's preprogrammed flight.

A lot of these problems are frequently caused by the PAF switch not being in the F position when the app is launched. It is also likely that the DJI Go app is running in the background and attempting to connect as well. Be sure to fully close the DJI Go app.

Sometimes the DJI Go app will have a pretty good hold on the connection so unplugging the connection cable and closing both apps will sometimes be required.

I was having all sorts of issues until I began to follow this checklist Tudor provided earlier, ensuring no step was missed. Now I connect every time.

Here is the proper startup sequence:
1.Start up the remote
2.Start up the aircraft, make sure you have a green light on the remote
3.Connect the mobile device
4.Start the DJI Go app to check for updates or system errors
5.Close the DJI Go app
6.Open Map Pilot
7.Check that you are properly connected and have a video feed
8.Do your flight planning
9.Switch the PAF switch to F
10.Manually take of to an altitude of 5m using the remote control sticks
11.Push the Upload button to upload the flight plan to the aircraft
12.Push the Start button to command the aircraft to commence automated flight.
