Gaps in Map rendering

Hello,
After processing my map shows fairly large swaths in the center with poor data and imaging. Overlap was set to 80% and winds were calm, I have very good even coverage after reviewing photo locations - what would cause this? I could understand perhaps on the edges, but dead center of the map in two different areas is weird. Id like to re-process but it costs WAY too much. Help>?

We are sorry you are not happy with your results. The overlap looks good. But flipping through the images you can see huge fluctuations in the brightness of the images. This can happen when you have really light reflective surfaces next to dark surfaces. There are places where the center portion is totally blown out and then places where the trees are super dark.

I think this scene would greatly benefit from having a circular polarizing filter installed to keep the back reflections down. That might have kept the exposure from making such harsh adjustments.

The point of 80% overlap is to give the system 25 views of everything. That assumes that the 25 views are all the same. If you substantially change the brightness of the image on half of them you are really only giving the system have of that data to work with.

We usually do recommend using auto exposure but there are times you definitely want to use manual exposure settings to keep things from getting away from you like this. Since the data was not collected using Map Pilot Pro we can't really provide much more guidance on that though.

We will provide a one-time 50% refund for exposure related issues.

I think I will re-fly this project with said filter, but unfortunately I don't believe I can use Map Pilot Pro with my P4P RTK Setup with smart controller. A points refund would help significantly with the cost of re-processing, and would make me a customer for life. Thank you
