We are sorry that you had a near incident but we are glad to hear that it is OK.
Once the aircraft enters the the RTH mode Map Pilot Pro is out of the picture. There is no way for it to regain control and the app is just reporting the telemetry that is being sent.
It sounds like there might be an issue with the batteries at this point. So fully check those out in the DJI app and make sure they get a good long charge on the stock charger.
USUALLY, but maybe not in this case where the was a weird battery issue, you can switch the flight mode control switch to regain control in the RTH state. Once you get things up and going again practice this in a controlled location to see if the behavior is different. You might even be able to do it on the simulator in Map Pilot Pro.
