Offset to survey target level

I have a doubt with the offset to survey level.

When I increase the offset, I logicaly observe more lines in the grid to conserve the overlaps, but on the other hand, the GSD increases too when I was excepting that it decreases (as the distance to the target does).
Is it a bug in the User Interface or something I don't understand?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You pick the altitude you want to fly, let's say 100 meters, and you want to cover a roof that is 40 meters up. If you select to use 80% overlap the flight plan will initially get calculated to give you 80% overlap on the ground (same plane as takeoff level) from 100 meters. But the roof you are interested is 40 meters higher than the ground it will get significantly less overlap. Not good. This is where the Ground Offset comes in. If you select a Ground Offset of 40 meters this would bring the plane for which the flight plan is calculated up to the roof level and give it the 80% overlap you desire. To do this the passes will get closer together.

It does appear that there is an issue with the GSD display though... We will fix that in a future release.

Thanks for kind and detailed answer :)
I did understand everything well and I'm glad to : I'll fly soon quite low above a big building's roof and I didn't want to take any risk because of a missunderstood :D
