Flying bellow the take off point

Although in the manual it is stated that flying bellow the take off point is possible, When I try it in simulation mode using terrain awareness the drone (Inspire 2) stops at the pint of take off point level somewhere and does not descend any more and is not able to continue the mission. Will it be also the case in the real flying situation?

The simulator does a lot of weird stuff. It is nice for sanity checks and practice but there are certain things it won't do. Flight below the takeoff point is one of them.

We have done testing with this with the Mavic and P4P in spring of 2017 and it was working fine. We haven't tested it recently though and have not tested it with the Inspire 2.

Our guess is that it will work in the real world. Please report back with your results.
