Mapping an entire city - 1000's of acres

I am sure I am not the first to want to do this and I apologize if this has been asked before, but I am wanting to map an entire city but I am not sure if this is even possible after my few weeks of researching.

Ultimately, I want to have a similar experience as google maps. I want to be able to have a basic map background and overlay aerials on top of that like gmaps sat view, and also have the ability to do 3d.

Say for instance I have 1000 acres I want to monitor. January 1st I fly 100 acres, have MME process it, fly another 100 acres, have MME process it, and so on. Once I have everything processed, I want to merge them all together into a single map. Then on February 1st, I will fly the same 1000 acres in the same fashion as the first time.

I would like to be able to put all 1000 acres onto a single map that I can share with a client each month. So they can monitor that area each month and see the city progress.

Is there any combination of workflow that will get me a google maps style experience, that I can replicate on a normal basis, and also not break the bank?

Thanks to everyone else for the suggestions.

It all comes down to area and GSD.

There are limits to the file sizes that we use.

If you wanted to do a 5 km x 5 km area at 1 cm/pixel, that would result in a 500,000 x 500,000 pixel image. That would be unworkable. We have done some up to about 300k x 300k but the outputs are unusable to anyone who doesn't have a supercomputer.

However, if you wanted 5 cm/pixel GSD, that gets you within our workable range.

All of our public facing processing is restricted to single image processing.

Maps Made Easy has what they call a "Location" function that allows you to include as many maps as you want. It is not as seamless as if all the images are merged as one, but it is workable.

Take a look at 4d Mapper. You can take the exported data from MME and drop it into 4D mapper and supply your clients with a link to view it in a similar way to Google Earth. They have a timeline feature as well I believe to scroll through the different dates of the data.

Alternatively, you can take the individual chunks of data the get processed from MME into software like Global Mapper and crop and merge as you need. Then export the whole thing as a kmz for google earth.

Matt, Thank you VERY much for these suggestions, 4d mapper looks great! I will test this out to see if pricing will be feasible. Global Mapper also looks interesting.

I really appreciate the suggestions! I have been researching for weeks and I haven't come across a lot of these things, not due to lack of trying, but these keywords are so common its difficult. Try a search for drone mapping software, haha, not really helpful.
