It is likely because of the KML formatting. You can send the file to us for inspection at mapping@dronesmadeeasy.com
In general, KMLs that get imported into Map Pilot need to be simple with all features in the top layer. It cannot be heavily nested in multiple folders and have embedded images and things like that. You may need to simplify the KML by using Save As and saving individual features or groups of features in a simpler structure.
