Map Pilot: how to change primary pass orientation

 The tutorial and many messages refer to changing the orientation of the primary pass by using a two finger rotation gesture on iOS but I'm Map Pilot on an iPad Pro 9.7" and that doesn't seem to work.  What does work is moving the purple (home) dot...I happened to notice that when you move that dot around, it changes the primary pass direction.

Is this a change that was made recently in how the app works or is this some kind of strange bug?

I've tried quite a few times to get the two-finger rotation gesture working but it doesn't seem to work and I didn't see any setting that turns it on/off.  I tried touching within the flight plan area, outside of the flight plan area, touching one or two of the waypoints, etc and nothing seemed to work.  Was this feature changed recently?

I'm using version 2.8.2 build 06142018 of the Map Pilot app.
