Stitching errors

I've been using Maps Made Easy to make detailed maps of the bedrock exposed in the bottom of excavations. These are short lived exposures and we want to get as much as we can from them in the few days they are available. It has worked for several maps but I have run into a problem with one where there are clear stitching errors. See the link below
https://www.mapsmadeeasy.com/maps/public/69a02530e5554ff0ab63352684acd398/

I have used more than the minimum images necessary so I might be able to use fewer to produce better results. Might the problem originate in the areas that aren't important to me. In order to get a good overlap of the bottom I'm including a lot of area outside the hole including trees.

Thanks in Advance

Yep. That looks like junk... Maps of areas like this usually turn out really well. Between flying super low and having a mix of moving and still images, it looks like the our system got confused with the data.

The overlap you got in the middle was certainly sufficient but around the edges wasn't that great and in general it was pretty inconsistent.

We HIGHLY recommend using our Map Pilot app to collect your data to avoid this situation. We see that you were flying down around 5m and Map Pilot will allow you to fly down to 10m.

Consistent overlap is the key to creating accurate 3D models and maps.

Thank you Tudor. That's what I feared. I could see the rain coming so I was in a hurry. I have the Map Pilot installed and will be using it from now on. Is there a way to identify the moving images so I can remove them and try again with only stills?

The fact that images were taken while moving is not the problem. The problem is more likely that they aren't all taken at the same speed. DJI cameras have a rolling shutter. If images are taken at different speeds, they will have different effective ground spot dimensions which can throw the accuracy off by quite a bit.
