Feature Request

1.  Ability for the user to specify an elevation for the take-off point rather than using the current lookup from ground photo.

2.  Allow the user to identify  markers or details with known distance between them and specify the distances in order to scale model without GCPs.  This will yield better relative horizontal accuracy when absolute accuracy is not critical and can be placed relatively easily in the field.

For reference, Agisoft Photoscan has both of these functions.

Thanks Guys.

1. We provide this capability in the Tag Fixer utility but not in the normal workflow. We will look at adding it but we prefer to keep things simple and not have a bunch of text entry fields that raise a bunch of questions for other users that don't require it. The better thing to do would be to take off from an undisturbed area if possible.

2. We will be providing a referencing utility in the future that will be for a full georeferencing, not just scaling.

1. So would I just fix the ground image with tag fixer or would that require fixing the whole stack?

tbh,  you guys have a lot of pop-up checks and assurances in the workflow.  I don't know how 1 text field that can be very important will be the straw.  But if there is a workaround, ok.  "Undisturbed" can be hard to come by on construction development sites.

2. sounds promising. months or years?

1. The Tag Fixer system does the same ground reference image adjustment that our normal processing does but it gives you an opportunity to enter a takeoff elevation. It requires a ton of uploading and downloading so it may not be ideal. There is very little chance that defining the takeoff elevation will make your elevation data perfect. You would be much better served to manually adjust the altitude by applying a GCP georeferencing after the fact using GIS software if the final altitudes are that important.

2. Months, but it is not a high priority because it will take a lot of work on our end and we have doubts as to how much it would be utilized.

1.  Okay, sounds like other software for this.

2.  Often relative accuracy is all that is needed.  This would be ideal for that.  Perhaps you've found that folks using MME are just after an ortho with no need for accuracy in which case I can see your point.

Thanks for the replies.
