Using MapBox for cached maps

I need to solve the problem of not being able to import a shapefile to plan flights.

I was given the tip to use Mapbox to create a baselayer with my polygon and I should be able to select it as a baselayer in Map Plot then I can use it as a guide to trace areas of interest to plan flights.

I cannot figure out how to get Map pilot to project the map I created I thought it would be as easy as selecting the offline icon or the "i" info icon to direct me how to enter my username and link the map.

Map Pilot does not accept shapefiles to define the survey boundary.

None of this really sounds like something Map Pilot does. We do use Map Box as a data source for the offline cached missions but we don't allow other maps other than the ones we use by default to be used.

That is an interesting idea though.

I'm just diving into Mapbox and it looks to be very promising and fun to use. I just watched a video of how you can choose your basemap with The Tower mission planner.

heres how it worked

I was trying to find an alternative, I really wish it was as easy as importing a shapefile or KML. I was hoping I could at least have a basemap with the poly lines embedded so I can trace the lines in Map pilot as I prepare and plan for each flight. There is a guy on Facebook that provided me the idea and says it's as easy as selecting the offline map.
