Phantom 4 pro ISO adjustment

This past September I mapped a large area with a P3P and had a lot of cloud cover. I was able to lock the shutter speed at 1/1600 to reduce image blur and the iso would change. With the Phantom 4 Pro the iso stays locked at 100 and the highest shutter speed I can use is 1/500 on cloudy days. The F stop changes to compensate for the exposure. I would like to use the same thing as the Phantom 3 Pro lock the f stop to 2.8 and the shutter speed and let the camera adjust the ISO. I know there will be noise but noise is better than blur. The other day it was windy and the image was blur even though the reported image blur was only 1cm. I've used higher ISO settings on many other cameras for SfM and it hasn't been a problem.

Thanks

Rob

This is just how DJI is handling the Shutter Priority internally now. The P3P and the P4P are getting the same setup but the different models are handling differently since the P4P is fancy and has a adjustable aperture.

The reported motion blur is calculated by multiplying the aircraft speed by the exposure time which gives the smear distance. 1 cm of ground smear isn't usually an issue but that doesn't mean it was in focus...

The problem with adjusting the aperture to address the incoming light is that it changes the composition of the image. The autofocus is pulled when the aircraft reaches the cruising altitude while the aperture is at some value but then as the lighting changes the focus may change a bit, especially if you are flying low or the terrain is rolling.

Short story: we don't have any control over how the camera does it's shutter priority adjustments.

Zane, Thanks for the response. You guys must pull your hair out everytime there is a firmware update.
