Anyone have any recommendations on hosting maps for website (samples) that is more permanent?
You can embed them in your own site using the iFrame codes we provide. Our samples page is an example of how they would show. Each of the maps shown there is using the embed feature. Aside from that you could use your own code to access the tiles directly.

Doesn't that data get deleted eventually though?
Does the data on the link get deleted after 6 months?
If you do not view the map or its detail page for 6 months and it was not created using either purchased points or on an active subscription the files will be deleted. So, you can either pay to create the map, have an active subscription or be actively viewing the map from Maps Made Easy to keep it active.
If you are using the tiles directly that does not count as viewing it. If you are viewing it using the iFrame embed code it does.
