"corner radius invalid"

I am an academic field researcher in the Plant Sciences.

We have used the Map Pilot (Business subscription) App for flight planning of field data collection flights for several years.

As a plant researcher, we are using a RedEdge-MX camera for image collection. This camera is not supported by Map Pilot, but image collection parameters are set through the MicaSense site instead and collection is triggered on a timer once the drone reaches a pre-set altitude.

Recently I started receiving a warning message upon opening the Map Pilot app that stated that the app would soon lose functionality and we needed to upgrade to Map Pilot Pro.

I purchased a Map Pilot Pro subscription and sync'd our data collection flight plans, but when I tried to use the Pro app to fly this flight plan today I received the following error message: "corner radius invalid".

The flight parameters are dictated by the data collection needs and are as follows:

- Norm Mission

- Overlap: 80/85

- Max Speed: 2.4 m/s

- Altitude: 21 m

I cannot find any information on your site about this error or how to rectify this issue.

I have successfully flown this flight or similar flight plans with the Map Pilot app dozens of times.

Any help that you can provide would be appreciated.

The radius thing happens when 3 consecutive waypoints don't meet certain criteria for distance and angles. It usually happens on flights after the first flight that have an abadonment point near another waypoint. This can easily be worked around by selecting the nearest corner waypoint while the blue verification line is showing so you start there instead of having that extra point in there that is causing the issues.

There is a minimum radius in the turns that we program into the corners. If you are flying super low and using high overlap your passes will get so close together that they violate that minimum radius.

Try going into the Advanced Settings at the bottom of the Settings screen and set the Turn Mode to straight.

Setting Turn Mode to straight seems to have resolved the issue, thank for your help. For anyone else using the RedEdge cameras, this turn mode also mostly eliminates non-nadir images during turns - a by-product of the lack of true gimbals available for these cameras.
