Is there a way to change the format of the Public Map Link so that I can use it as a layer in Scopito?
This is copied from their site:
The map URL must use either the XYZ or TMS scheme in the Spherical Mercator projection. These are URLs containing {z}/{x}/{y}.png, {z}/{y}/{x}.png or look like &z={z}&y={-y}&x={x} and similar.

I hope this helps, it would be great to see a more joined-up workflow.

It is possible. View the source code on the page using the Developer options. In Chrome it is under View -> Developer -> View Source.
Search for 'my_layer'. The URL in there will work with what you need. Note there are two Xs.

After our email exchange, all I had to do was change the URL from {y} to {-y} to make it work.
