Hi,
I flew a 3 km linear mission recently (3 passes, 75 m AGL, terrain awarness, 2 batt, P4P, connectionless, good weather/wind conditions). There is one part where it seems to be an issue with connecting to the right path after battery change. The rest seems ok, but the whole processing went wrong. Any chance to have a look at the data? I submitted a requuest but didn´t get an answer.
thanks

Hi Zane,
Must be som problem with spam filter on my side. Thanks for a quick answer.
I flew it with 85/76 overlap with 3 passes. Would you recommend higher that 85/85?
About areas with only few looks - that seems to be a problem of Map Pilot skipping photos, becasue 85/76 is properly sufficient not to leave such a large "gaps".
Also there is a problem on the southern part, where it looks, like after battery change, drone didn´t catch the proper flight line at first, or something like that. Any advice on that?
Thanks,
Matej
50/50 overlap means 4 looks at everything in the survey area.
66/66 overlap means 9.
75/75 overlap gets you 16.
80/80 gets you 25.
The problem with only 3 passes is that no matter how much across track overlap you use you aren't really getting that many looks at everything. The solution is to up your along track overlap to make up for the fact that you don't have a lot of passes to work with.
The goal is to have 20-25 looks at things. If you are only getting 3 wide, then you need about 85% overlap to get 7 looks at everything along one pass. Then the 3 passes will end up getting you 21 looks for only the centermost portion where everything overlaps.
perfect, thanks. it will be helpful to know the numbers!
could you also comment on gaps in photos made by Map Pilot? what is better - connectionless or connected flight? anything else that would help to prevent them? Iv been having problems with this issue mainly during linear flights.
Thanks,
Matej
