Flight timer expiration returning home

Got that error and it returned instead of completing the mission. It was already half way back, 60% batt, 8 min into flight. Max time set to default 17. Please help?

Hmm. Please email log files for affected flight to mapping@dronesmadeeasy.com for inspection. We haven't heard of this happening to anyone else.

Returning home early is usually a battery calibration issue so make sure you batteries are properly calibrated according to DJI's recommendations.

If it were a cell problem, would the message say timer?

If it headed back early there could be something going on with the battery and it may have triggered it.

The timer estimate is the total flight time that has already occurred plus the amount of time the aircraft is currently estimating it will take to get back to the home point. If there is something funky with the battery it may make that estimate of how long it needs to get home get weird.

The goal is to land the aircraft at 17 minute mark, not head home at it.

Will try again w random Lipo. If it happens again at 17 will try 22 setting.

I have the same problem.  Drone goes to set ATL flyes for about 400 meters and then "returns home at flight time expiration" with 80% battery.  I make it take off again and it flies with the same battery without a problem.

The logic here is that the battery tells Map Pilot how long it needs to get back to the home point and how long it will take to land. Those values get added to the current flight time. Once that time exceeds the set flight timer value it requests a return to home.

Example: Timer is set to 17 minutes, time to home is 1 minute, time to land is 30 seconds, Map Pilot will request that the aircraft heads home at 15:30 into the flight so it should land right at 17 minutes.

DJI may have changed something here and we will look into it. Please post what aircraft and firmware versions you are experiencing issues on.
