Initial climb while marking home point

I fly an Air 2S and have noticed when MPP first takes off and stops climb to mark home point, it only climbs to about 5 feet. DJI home point is marked at about 20 feet AGL. Consequently the MPP return to home is seldom very accurate compared to DJI. Is there a way to change this?

I am not understanding what you are describing here. The Home Point is marked at the takeoff location on the ground. I am not sure why a home point being higher off the ground is helpful or more accurate. 

Whatever you are doing you should definitely not have multiple apps running at a time if that is what is going on.
