When you make a map public, it isn't listed anywhere and has 512 bits of random number in front of it so no one is ever going to find it by accident. It is only public to who you give it to. It does not get listed or indexed anywhere. You are in control of the URLs dissemination and can shut it off at any time.

Can you create a folder for each one of your clients and limit their access to their specific folder???

There is no mechanism for grouping shared maps but that is a pretty good idea.

Indeed, it would be very helpful for even MME account holders to be able to group (like in a folder) map projects and also mission plans in MP.  This was brought up ages ago and you guys said you were working on it.  I think you came up with Boundary Groups which is not even close, unfortunately.

An actual simple user controlled structure of some sort is still sorely needed for both mission plans and map projects.  I'm quite certain you guys have your computer files organized in some manner. I'm not sure why you would want this system to be one big bag.

I have numerous clients in the construction industry. Currently, when I share a new mission with a client, I simply email him a public link ("Shareable URL"). That's ok, but now he has to manage the link. That is to say, now he has to fish it out of his inbox every time he wants to see it. If he wants to share it with co-workers, he has to forward the link to them, and now they're faced with the same inconvenience. They could all bookmark the links into a dedicated folder but I find that few people know how to do this.

Setting up a "repository" of completed missions for each of my clients would be helpful.

@Old Scout   Until DME steps up their backend, what I do is create a page on my website for a customer that contains their info and any asset links all in one place.  They are then free to share that page with their colleagues.  TBH, this works pretty well for me.  But, I would still like to be able to organize my Projects and Mission Plans within MME/MP. It's somewhat silly now all in one bucket.

We added the search feature to the Mission Plans screen in Map Pilot to aid in organization. As you may have noticed, there is a lot of weirdness in going back and forth between iCloud storage, the Files app, and in app storage. Adding folders would make it impossible to do certain things as there isn't really a mechanism for it.

If you use the boundary system all descendant Mission Plans will be named with that so you can key in on it in a search. Or you can just name things appropriately on the project by project basis to aid in search.

This was our folder solution because it basically isn't possible to do well.

'Simple user controlled structure' is possible in the Files app. That is what we use. Why duplicate something that is an integral part of the OS?

There will be a whole new report making system coming out soon that will include the ability to make custom groupings of maps.

Well, I certainly notice that file management in general is a train wreck on ios devices if that's what you are referring to.

I guess I don't quite get how your Boundary System is supposed to work and what is it's goal. My shortcoming I guess if everyone else is using it as a solution for organizing their clients and or project maps.

@Dave Pitman Excellent suggesttion. I'm fairly handy with creating web pages and embedding content. Maybe a main page that lists all the mission links/descriptions that point to corresponding webpages. I'm assuming they'll be able to go full-screen on those...

@Zane A big plus for embeds on your own webpages is BRANDING. Your clients see your name and logo and associate the slick tool to you.... and think you're so smart!! Great for your image!!
