Blurry Images

I have a P3 Pro and use Map Pilot on a iPad Air 2. I've flown a few test
missions and have had no problem setting those up or executing the missions. However, all of the images are blurred and clearly unusable. I've lowered the speed to 6m/s with no improvement.

I also reset the camera to its default settings in the DJI GO app, but with
no apparent improvement.

Any suggestions?

If slowing the aircraft down isn't helping then you might just be trying to map in conditions that are too low on light for the DJI camera to capture. You could try turning the exposure compensation down in the settings menu which will result it faster exposure times at the cost of brightness. There are physical limits as to what can be captured by cameras like these with F2.8 lenses. You could also try flying higher which will really just mask the effect of the ground smear. We always recommend mapping as close to solar noon as possible to maximize the amount of light available.

To confirm, you have "slow aircraft for lighting" selected in the settings?

Are they all equally blurry?

What does the exif data show?

1/500 is usually fast enough to allow for full speed flight. At 15 m/s that equals 3 cm of smear.

If it just affected the 3rd flight it was most likely an auto focus issue/failure. It is hard to check focus in the air since the video feed is a much lower resolution. You can always pause the flight and redo the auto focus or switch to infinity focus if you feel the need.

i have an issue for multi battery missions .

I sent another post about out of focus photos earlier here at that flight photos on second mission were blury but no problem for 1st mission .

Yesterday i had a 2 battery mission  in first flight all photos were sharp but after changing battery photos on second mission were blury

please check attached photo .( you can compare cables on both photo)

i should say slow aircraft according to light  is always ON but no changing on speed .( it is my another problem)

The aircraft will not be slowed if there is enough light to keep the ground smear to less than 2X GSD. If it isn't slowed during the first flight it won't be slowed for subsequent flights.

Autofocus is pulled at the top of the climb to the cruising altitude and if the takeoff location was the same for both flights it SHOULD have pulled a similar focus solution. That is not guaranteed though since it relies on DJI's contrast based AF solution.

You have to ask yourself if the poor focal quality was caused by motion (streaky) or by poor focus (uniformly blurry).

Map Pilot Pro will have a mechanism for specifying a manual focus value.

My problem because of poor focus not motion blure.

Please check and correct  me:

1.focal distance is fix at first flight and it cant change for next flights in multi battery flights .So it is good just for flat area  or better to say we cant change home point  .

2. to keep all photos sharp in multi battery  missions we shouldn't change take off point .

and what is your solution in missions that we use terrain awareness and have to change batteries ?

in mountain area we have to change home point to save more battery power and for next missions move to another home point .

what is your recommendation to keep focus ?

Thank you

1. Not true. It recalculates at the top of the climb for every flight. You can also set the focus to infinity or stop the flight to double tap on the camera preview to pull the autofocus again. For the distance changes: this is why we have Terrain Awareness...

2. It SHOULDN'T matter but to keep a consistent AF solution it is best to keep it in the same place.

Since the AF solution is pulled for X meters above the takeoff location it should be valid throughout the flight since Terrain Awareness keeps the aircraft X meters above the ground. Any time there is a STEEP slope it will only likely be valid for part of the image though but there is no getting around that.

Recommendation is use Terrain Awareness and keep an eye on the "Auto Focus Success" popup. Also, stop and check your focal quality as well as you can. Depending on the scene using the Infinity focus value will be more universal and have a wider depth of focus.

and i didn't change focus since i use map pilot .

do you mean stop drone after take off and  adjust focus ? how can stop/resume it ?
