Connecting to the Aircraft with the App

I am stumped, trying to figure out how to connect to the aircraft. I created a flight plan and thought it would connect after I made a valid plan.

am I understanding this correctly?

If you are planning on flying, have the remote powered up before before you press the Create New Mission button in the main menu. It attempts to connect when that window is opening. When it is connected properly you should see a red triangle that shows the drone's current location.

I'm having the exact same issue with using the Inspire 1 current public firmware and a iPad Air 2 with 9.02. Have tried everything I can think of in the last couple of hours, including the above suggestion with absolutely no luck ever connecting with the Inspire 1 even briefly.

I even took it up to and above the 5m, and let it sit and hover while going through more various troubleshooting methods.

Normally I fly with Android, and that seems to work okay still. I see some people having issues with iOS 9.02 so maybe this is related.

For now, I guess I'll reluctantly head back to my Android based solution. Hope this is resolved soon and I can give this another try soon.

Are you able to see the red triangle denoting your position? Does the top status bar say "Connected"?

We have seen the currently released firmware just not want to connect sometimes.

Is it connecting to DJI Go OK?

Thank you that worked for me Not perfectly it's a little tedious I had to shut down the aircraft and the controller a couple times to practice different flight plans. Regardless it's exactly what I needed.

You shouldn't have to shut it down just do to multiple flights. Once you complete a flight you can delete it with the trash can icon and start a new one. Also, as long as the drone is connected the first time you open the "Create New Mission" screen you can connect and disconnect it all you like.
