Insufficient Zoom Level

I'm wondering why the maximum zoom that I can achieve using the Adjust Alignment tool is not nearly enough to accurately pinpoint the center of my GCPs. my GSD was roughly 1.4-1.5cm/px, but the tool will not let me zoom in enough to confidently define where the center of the GCP is. I can zoom in much further on the downloaded jpg of the map. I'm just wondering if I'm missing some way to zoom in further when manually georeferencing my maps.

When we show the tiled maps there is a limit to how far they can be zoomed. Yes, you can zoom in to a JPG more but that is because it is allowing you to overzoom it and stretch the pixels out to larger than one pixel on the screen. The web maps are only allowed to stretch pixels to the size of one pixel on the screen.

Also, due to how the web maps are tiled, the level of detail available in the web map may be slightly less than that which is available in the native resolution files like the JPG and GeoTiff.

Okay thank you for clarifying that. But is there any way to gain more zoom when manually georeferencing a map so that one can confidently pinpoint the center of a GCP?I love the workflow of MME, but if I can't with confidence say that I've marked the center of a GCP then the georeferencing isn't going to be anywhere near as accurate as it could be.

We have added another level of zoom but it is just stretching the pixels that were already there out more. Hopefully that helps.
