DJI Mini 3 unable to upload

Hi MME,

I am new to the MME app and workflow but I have read through the documentation about data capture, the good, the bad and the absolutely nots! But I think I followed the guidance perfectly, and I also let the apps recommendations such as the gimbal being at 5 degrees take over.

When I try to upload the photos into the maps made easy tool however, it tells me none of my photos are used due to the gimbal position, even though I am using the recommended 5 degrees in the app.

Is there a way around this at all?

Maps Made Easy with the DJI Workflow will only except images of up to 40° above nadir. Anything above that should be processed using some other software. We don’t recommend including images that are near or include the horizon.

You could try using the Classic workflow, but if those images don’t likely follow the data collection guidelines that are agreed to at the time of upload.

Hi Zane,

This is 5 degrees above nadir on the drone, so the camera is pointing almost straight down, with a 5 degree lift as per the recommendation from the map pilot pro application.

Should this not be able to be processed via the DJI workflow?

I did use the classic workflow in the end and it generated a very nice looking map.

What is the text of the warning you were getting?

Make sure you were uploading the images straight off the SD card, not allowing what any photo management software to touch the images. That can irreparably damaged the tags.

Hi Zane,

I have just attempted directly from the SD card out of the drone, and copied the error message:

"The camera needs to be pointed between -90 degrees and -50 degrees (40 degrees up from nadir). Images pointing higher are not accepted. Please remove the following images from your dataset:<all of my pictures>Some cameras don't fill the pointing tags properly but you can try the Classic Workflow."

Ironically whilst in the classic workflow it tells me I should be using the DJI workflow.

Try using a different browser to upload the images.

We are getting plenty of images uploaded daily that are taken with that camera and the tags seem to be fine.

If you continue to have issues please email one of the images to mapping@dronesmadeeasy.com so we can take a look.
