Stitching Errors in Orthophotos using PT Gui

Aloha,

I appreciate your help on past issues... everything really starting to "gel" with my workflow now. Still one nagging little problem however. I've noticed slight stitching errors (stitching on my own with PTGui Pro) on larger orthophoto missions (100 images or more). Everything seems to stitch, very well, except for an occasional slight glitch... which usually involves a road or a fence being slightly off with the stitch. I'm usually stitching with a 70% overlap... just wondering if increasing the overlap to 80% might solve the problem? Or, do you think this is all a problem with PTGui Pro?

Thanks!
Joe

That is going to happen with all stitching softwares. PTGui does and OK job. It is a very different type of processing than we do with Maps Made Easy. PT Gui really is just stitching images together and based on where various images are taken it can be impossible to stitch it together perfectly. Vertical features are always hard. That is why we attempt to keep track of all 3D points and vertical surfaces with Maps Made Easy so we can render them appropriately.

More overlap is not likely to solve your problem with PT Gui.
