So, i need to measure 9 stockpiles volumes on 2 hectare (5 acres).
I have mavic 2 zoom and i want to try it with dji pilot pe doing oblique mission. Do you have any tips what kind of height, overlap, speed should i use, and when i take thos images, how much would it cost me to upload them so mappmadeeasy can make 3d model. Also what output options should i choose in order to be able to take those volume measurements. Thank you
Use lots of points. 20 is good. 5 isn't enough. 70 is too many.
Put the points close to the base of the stockpile but make sure it is on the ground.
Don't bother with oblique images. 80% will be best. Use Map Pilot to collect your data.
You don't need any special processing options. Just 80% overlap.

Thank you for your help. So, basicaly only NADIR images are enough? So what would be a good height for 2 hectare field? 50m is ok? 75, 100? When i am low, drone needs to take more picutres, i am not sure if i can do 100x200m with 3 batteries. I did a test run, now i have a 3d model and volume measuring seems ok. Can i save that 3d model and 2d picture on which i did select volume on my pc, or does it stay on Mapsmadeeasy server?
The only reason you would ever really want to add any oblique images would be to better capture vertical or overhanging surfaces of a structure. Most stockpiles don't have vertical sides...
50 meters is probably good. It won't matter a ton but it comes down to the GSD of the photo map layer.
The measurements can be done on our site. The annotations stay in place on the site. You can also use other software to make these measurements using the LAS or DEM files.
