Our Tag Pilot app would do what you are looking for. You can lay out linear flights for automated flight or load multiple KML files in just to use as a guideline.
Hi,
We want to import a KML/KMZ line as an itinerary for the flight. We want to fly the drone manual, using the line as a visual guide while flying i.e. the line is displayed on the map clearly whilst in flight on the tablet/phone. The line inserted will be used purely for visual guidance of the drone whilst flying. We are not looking to produce automated orthomosaics.
Please let me know if there is a way of doing this in MapPilot. We are open to using other file formats other than KML/KMZ if they are not compatible (We are relying on ArcGIS to produce the lines/flight path).
Kind regards,

If I understand you correctly, Map Pilot is not the app. Litchi would work well.
Example; In Google Earth I create a path and then export it as a kml. Import the kml into Litchi as a new mission and you have the grid as a reference, or fly it autonomously. Or, you could skip Arcgis or Google Earth in my example, and simply draw your grid directly in Litchi. You don't have to let Litch fly the grid for it to display. But maybe I misunderstand?
I did a search of this forum and the above thread post might answer my question. Can I save a map in my DJI controller by setting up 1 waypoint in the map page. Go to the job site, open the map and then manually fly a photo grid with the camera set to shoot every 2 seconds. Will these series of photos contain the data necessary for maps made easy to produce a photogrammic map?
I’m flying an Air 3.
It doesn't really have to be one waypoint. Just make a flight plan for the general area where you want to fly and hit the Save button. Then go to the Mission Plans screen and hit the suitcase button on the mission to "pack and go" with all the files you would need to operate offline.
You can load multiple KMLs into Map Pilot Pro now too.
But, since you are using an Air 3 you are going to be able to fly using any app other than DJI fly. You can do the planning in Map Pilot Pro and export it as a KMZ but the actual flying would be done in the DJI app.
Ok, thanks. Big learning curve here so I’ll watch the videos in your link and see if can figure out.
i did go out today and fly a manual control mapping mission. I took 109 photos at 2 second intervals and at a speed of 4 knots and 160 feet.
would this data make a map?
it wouldn’t be for commercial purposes, but rather to practice using the maps made easy software to become proficient at map making.
thanks
