Create a mission from desktop

Dear All,

is it possible to create a mission from desktop ( Maps Pilot Dashboard) and then upload to Map pilot mobile app?

Thanks

You can define a flight area on Maps Made Easy by creating a boundary. This will let you define the survey area, not the actual flight plan itself since that is done on the iOS device.

You could also define a polygon or linestring in Google Earth and import it into Map Pilot as you normally would (via Email or AirDrop) but rename the file from sample.kml to sample_boundary.kml to import as boundaries and linear plans. Adding the _boundary to the filename tells the system to import is as boundary definitions instead of just guidelines. The imported data will show up in the File Manager screen.

Thank you.

Is there a way to force the system, after importing the kml, to automatically define the boundary of the mission according to the kml file (instead of tap manually each corner as close as possible to the kml)?

Draw a polygon in Google Earth and save the KML. Then change the name of your file to include '_boundary' before the .kml part. This will cause it to be imported as a boundary instead of a guideline.

I did as you have explained (see file attached), but when the kml is loaded from the File Manager inside the map, the corner of the boundary of the mission are not automatically set over the kml but need to be manually inputby the user. Am I wrong?

Thank you in advance.

This is a new feature that is only available in version 4.1.10 and up. At this point only Map Pilot Lite has been released at that level. You could download that (free) and do your import before syncing it to MME and then back into what ever version you are working in.

I have download Map pilot Lite but when I try to import the kml from the email a payment is required. But Probably I haven't understood correctly.

Thanks in advance.

Any plans on adding the actual flight planner onto the desktop, web based site?

You can define the boundaries on the web as described above but all actual flight planning occurs on the app since it is something that should be checked and adjusted in the field anyway. After the boundary definition is done you just have to open the app, select the boundary you created and connect to the aircraft and the flight is planned for you.
